System leadership will be key to success for the appointed candidate, as you will have the opportunity to play a lead role in the development of the new Jersey Care Model and the move towards a more person-centred approach to care, with the individual at the heart and care closer to home where possible. This is a role of scale and complexity and will require a public health professional with exceptional system-leadership experience and expertise.
We are seeking an influential strategic leader with the credibility and proven ability to be a strong ‘national’ public health leader for the Island, with excellent interpersonal skills and the necessary behaviours to work with partners at a local, national and international level. You must also be able to evidence substantial experience in leading, managing and successfully delivering large scale communicable disease services. In addition, you will have an in-depth understanding of the challenges, complexities and opportunities of delivering the full range public health services.
Strong partnership working experience, both internally and externally, is essential, coupled with excellent leadership skills and the required specialist public health registration or equivalent with GMC, GDC or UK PHR allied to significant experience in all areas of public health practice.

As Group Medical Director you are responsible for representing the patient at the highest level of the organisation and for providing strategic, professional and operational leadership to medical staff within health and community services. Working closely with the Chief Nurse and the Group Managing Director you will develop our Health and Community Clinical Strategy, ensuring the island’s new hospital supports and enables the delivery of the strategy. You will be a critical force in the healthcare modernisation agenda, driving forward the strategic changes to the health and community portfolio being implemented as part of the Target Operating Model and new models of care.
To deliver transformation and safe, resilient services, you’ll work as part of Team Jersey in the development of clinical strategies and wider corporate change. That means you need to be a highly credible figure with the ability and confidence to build strategic relationships across multi-disciplinary teams, with GPs and with other external stakeholders. Meanwhile, you’ll also be used to setting and maintaining the highest standards in clinical governance and providing excellent professional advice to the Director General and the Health Minister. Your experience will include system-wide working incorporating acute, primary and community care, and mental health services. With an understanding of the impact of national policy and regulatory frameworks on the medical profession, your focus set firmly on the future, you’ll be equipped to give our Island – and its people – the tomorrow they deserve.

As Prison Governor, you’ll help to turn our vision for Justice and Home Affairs into reality. We aim to reduce re-offending, protect the public and provide a safe, healthy and stimulating environment for all at HMP La Moye. With an exciting redevelopment programme in the pipeline, Jersey’s prison will soon be a model of best practice – where offenders can gain work-related skills, maintain positive family relationships and prepare for a law-abiding life.
Day to day, you’ll be advising the Director General for Justice and Home Affairs; inspiring your Senior Management Team; and managing a complex prison service budget. But you’ll also look to the future – leading change programmes and forging partnerships with organisations that can aid offender rehabilitation. Educated to postgraduate level or with equivalent working experience, you will have senior operational experience as a Deputy or Governing Governor.
