    To make sure we successfully transform, you’ll support the Director General Growth, Housing and Environment by creating an efficient and effective capital building programme.  This will see you deliver all of our capital projects on time and on budget. You’ll also realise our strategic outcomes by working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.   • Director of Communications

As the Director of Communications, you’ll work with people throughout the government and our residents to shape, develop and implement our communications strategy.   • Director General – Health and Community Services

    As Director General for Health and Community Services you will lead an integrated health and social care service which includes a General Hospital, Adult Social Services, and Community and Mental Health Services.  You will be responsible for the Healthcare modernisation team which is implementing the transformation, modernisation and efficiency programme for health and community services designed to optimise primary, secondary and tertiary care, in order to improve the effectiveness of the service.  You will lead our commissioning function and you will oversee the commissioning of a new hospital for Jersey, due for completion in 2024.

  • Group Medical Director

    As Group Medical Director you are responsible for representing the patient at the highest level of the organisation and for providing strategic, professional and operational leadership to medical staff within health and community services.  Working closely with the Chief Nurse and the Group Managing Director you will develop our Health and Community Clinical Strategy, ensuring the island’s new hospital supports and enables the delivery of the strategy.  You will be a critical force in the healthcare modernisation agenda, driving forward the strategic changes to the health and community portfolio being implemented as part of the Target Operating Model and new models of care. 

    To deliver transformation and safe, resilient services, you’ll work as part of Team Jersey in the development of clinical strategies and wider corporate change. That means you need to be a highly credible figure with the ability and confidence to build strategic relationships across multi-disciplinary teams, with GPs and with other external stakeholders. Meanwhile, you’ll also be used to setting and maintaining the highest standards in clinical governance and providing excellent professional advice to the Director General and the Health Minister. Your experience will include system-wide working incorporating acute, primary and community care, and mental health services.  With an understanding of the impact of national policy and regulatory frameworks on the medical profession, your focus set firmly on the future, you’ll be equipped to give our Island – and its people – the tomorrow they deserve.

  • Group Director of Strategic Finance

    As transformation will take shape at multiple levels, we require a leader to drive strategic financial planning and policy to transform the approaches to finance across the States of Jersey.  You’ll help us create the framework for a ‘One Government’ approach to strategic finance, crafting a Medium Term Government Plan which encourages a culture of innovation and productivity and links spend across services and departments to Island outcomes and the States’ strategic priorities. You will also drive opportunities for improved, collaborative services that will deliver better outcomes and services for islanders, businesses and visitors. With your expertise, we can bring a greater focus to the long term financial sustainability of the States, deliver a robust plan for the future, ensuring there is a coherent, innovative, integrated and deliverable strategy for making investments. At the top of your agenda, you will help put finance at the heart of decision-making and drive continuous improvement and inspire teams to deliver high financial standards across the States Treasury, Exchequer function and broader Government departments.

    You will be experienced at establishing new services, creating a high performance culture, and setting up and maintaining complex financial management, resource planning systems, modelling and cost analysis. As an experienced professional who has led strategic, organisational change, you’ll be adept at managing relationships with internal leaders, senior stakeholders and external regulators. Experience in a public sector environment would be desirable.  The Group Director of Strategic Finance will create the climate to enable staff to thrive, ensuring finance supports the delivery of the vision of a vibrant and growing economy across the States of Jersey, delivering positive outcomes for islanders.

    As Group Director of Performance, Accounting and Reporting, you’ll be a key leader of the States Treasury and Exchequer function, pioneering change, championing the transformation agenda and re-working the way the finance function currently uses data and financial information to make the right strategic service decisions. This means having overall accountability for transforming the way performance, accounting and reporting is currently delivered, creating best practice across the States and partners to help deliver long term financial stability.

    You will create the conditions for innovation and change so your team are continually reviewing, adapting and using learning and best practice to improve the support they provide to politicians and senior leaders. This will help place finance at the heart of decision making and support a vibrant and growing economy across the States of Jersey, delivering positive outcomes for islanders.

    It will take an exceptional finance professional, with good strategic and operational experience to succeed in this unique role. Having started your career as a qualified Accountant, you will have since gained experience of preparing, managing and monitoring significant revenue and capital budgets in a large and complex organisation, operating in a politically sensitive environment.  Your leadership, change management and influencing skills will be key to creating productive relationships with a myriad of partners and stakeholders.
